The carriers we represent offer health insurance plans specifically designed for individuals who have Medicare, which includes those who are disabled, as well as citizens and residents who are 65 years of age or older. We offer a range of medical insurance options, including Medicare Supplements/Medigap Policy and Medicare Advantage plans.

With Medicare Advantage Plans, also known as “Part C” or “MA plans,” you can receive coverage for Medicare Parts A and B through private companies approved by Medicare. Medicare Advantage (MAPD plans) also include prescription drug coverage (Part D).There are various types of Medicare Advantage plans, each with its own set of rules for obtaining services covered by Medicare Parts A and B and additional benefits provided by the plan. These plans typically include extra benefits, such as dental, hearing, vision, and more, which Original Medicare does not cover. If you choose to enroll in a Medicare Advantage plan, you will continue to have Medicare, but your coverage for Part A and Part B will be primarily provided by your Medicare Advantage plan rather than Original Medicare. Providers are obligated to file claims with those carriers instead of the federal Medicare Program. Other words, MA/MAPD plans are private Medicare programs that conveniently combine all parts of Medicare (A,B,D & Extras) into one Plan built into one plastic insurance card. It is important to note that the cost and availability of these plans may depend on your location, age, gender and your health status. Just to clarify, Medicare Advantage cannot deny your enrollment due to your medical history (No preexisting conditions apply to Part C). Some plans though are specifically designed for chronically ill patients, and those diagnoses are required for enrollment in C-SNP Plans. The fact of being eligible for State Insurance Programs, in Illinois is called Medicaid, can also qualify for Medicare Advantage Plan which combines Medicare and Medicaid into one convenient plan (called D-SNP).

Unlike Medicare Advantage Plans which are primary, Medigap Policy is secondary to Original Medicare. Provider has to bill the federal program first and later forward the claim to Medicare Supplement Policy. Medigap insurance is a private plan not subsidized by the federal Medicare program. The fact that it is solely funded by policyholder’s premium affects the limitation of enrollment and annual rate increases. The enrollment and premium are based on your medical history unless you apply during the Medicare Supplement Open Enrollment (within 6 months from the Part B effective date or 65th birthday). Medigap Policy provides freedom since it is not based on any network. It is strictly medical insurance. If you desire coverage for prescription or want to avoid late enrollment penalty you need to elect a Stand Alone Prescription Plan (Part D). Benefits like dental, vision, hearing, gym membership or OTC/Healthy Foods are not part of Medigap premium. Medicare Supplement Plan G and N are the most popular options among clients.
